Is this normal in a relationship?

From an old guy, two years is not all that long to date before talking about a solid commitment even though, in today's social milieu some folks could have had six "solid" relationships by now! And don't be all that big a hurry even now, although it would be a good thing if you talked about hopes and dreams and the sorts of things you both want in life at later stages. So, perhaps you can talk about the future without specifically talking about your future together. All the while you do this, keep looking for deal-breakers such as a reluctance to talk about the future or an inability to discuss his plans and dreams. For a solid, give-and-take, mutually respectful relationship it sounds as though the two of you are about in the middle of the development process. Continue the process but don't let the gr grow under your feet either. Good luck.
