Yes, add two pamphlets. One for a really nice old folks home, and one for a really crappy one. Put the idea into their heads that eventually, it is going to be up to you which one they end up in. Allow them to contemplate the idea that the lack of a dog in your life will make you a mean, bitter person, likely to choose the bad retirement home. Where as if you have a dog, it will teach you to be kind and understanding, and more inclined to put them in the nice old folks home.
